Mr Trickett has been a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Ashford and St Peters NHS Trust since 2008. He qualified from The London Hospital Medical College in 1994 and undertook his initial surgical training at The Royal London Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998.

Higher surgical training was completed on the London/KSS Deanery programme providing specialist training in general, laparoscopic, colorectal and hernia surgery. He completed a thesis on colorectal cancer genetics at The University of Southampton and Cancer Research UK Lincoln’s Inn Fields London as a Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellow.

Mr Trickett completed a year of specialist colorectal training at a major Australian teaching hospital, Flinders Medical Centre.
